I've wanted to hike the PCT for years, and I had a recent revelation that I could hike it for a cause that is important to me. I have become somewhat disillusioned with the "normal" 40-hour work week.I work for what? Money to pay bills, yes, but for little real satisfaction. I don't fit in to that neat little box, and the wilderness has always called to me. I am an endurance trail runner, which I love, but taking the time to slow down and be out there for an extended period of time would be the realization of a dream for me. Being able to raise money to help wildlife--even better. less
