I'll be thru-hiking the entire Pacific Crest Trail with a friend for fun, adventure, and just to do something very different for a while. I've had a lot of wilderness experience, but this will be my first long-distance thru-hike, walking all the way from the Mexican border in the south to the Canadian border in the north.
If I can raise some money for this profoundly important cause in the process of my adventure, that makes it all the much more meaningful and enjoyable. I can think of no better cause than teaching and promoting permaculture and sustainable building in Haiti, which is a real long-term solution, rather than a short-term, stopgap fix. less

We are currently partnering with Haitian leaders, NGO's, and the international community to build capacity around shelter, water and food systems that are replicable, sustainable, and affordable. less
