Blacksburg, VA

Day 46

Blacksburg

Hitched a ride from Pearisburg, VA, to The Burg. The man couldn't read or write, but was a good guy and drove just fine.

A few good beers at Sharkey's has me in a good place.

Home and off the trail til Monday or Tuesday. This place is swirling with families, as graduation is tomorrow.

I plan to camp at the New River, swim in the a.m. and head back to cowboy camp tomorrow. I have unknowingly cowboy camped this town before.

Oh the memories.

Blacksburg is a good place for good times. I have fond recollections of interesting nights here.

Was almost 10 years ago that I graduated. Biology was the right choice. The study of Life... It still pulls me. Time flies.

I plan to relax and enjoy the campus as never before. The only goal, to kick my feet up. Time and the trail are on my side. My feet could surely use a break.

I am already getting excited to get back on the trail and run into people I've previously met. I want to get back out there and continue the life and times of Michelangelo Featherman.

Trail life is electrifying.

I'll enjoy this break and keep you posted.

	I am amazed by your journey! Your writing logs make for great reading...I see wonderful fodder for an article in OUTSIDE. I just read a stat: Each year, thousands of hikers attempt a thru-hike; only about one in four make it all the way.
