Knee has improved!

It has been five weeks since Laura and I left the trail due to my over-exerted knee. Initially I rested it and lately I have been getting in some regular walks wearing a wrap-style knee brace. This past Saturday we did a fair amount of incline walking and stairs in NH at The Flume, and it fared well (and I forgot to put the brace on). I plan to continue regular road walks moving forward.
In six days (Monday September 16) Laura and I have a one day hike planned. This will be the first test of my knee since August. (Incidentally my achilles tendon has been fine). We will be picking up where we left off, at Rutland's Long Pond, and hiking to the beginning of the section she and I maintain together which begins at Barre Falls Dam.
This section is about 7.5 miles give or take. Being a day hike I won't be carrying anything other than a small day pack and the essentials for the day. The light load should keep my knee relatively happy. We can hike as slow as we need to, now that the mosquitoes are gone.
I will update agan after Monday's hike.
