I've hiked The Long Trail!

Long Trail Terminus - Mile 273 - Aug 22nd, 2015

This morning I had the honor to say that I have hiked the entire Long Trail of Vermont! I find it hard to put such an experience into words, so I've let Emerson do that for me in a post prior to this one.
My parents raised me with a simple phrase that I recall when considering a challenge, which was, "you can do anything you set your mind to." I can still hear their voices saying this to me. This mantra took me through nursing school, this hike, and many more of life's tribulations. I meditated on this and my upbringing quite a bit on the trail as I looked to the past and considered the future, so in addition to the lives we have helped save together through #hikingfortrevor, I dedicate the completion of this trail to them - thanks you Mom and Dad for bestowing this jewel of encouragement to me!
So many people to thank for helping me through this! First, all my sponsors - you are all amazing to have wracked up $3,500 in pledges! Second, special thanks to brothers Christopher Schock and John Thunder Palmasano for their answers and advice. I really want to thank Dina Sorenson and my best friend Mike Burbine individually for their smiles and ongoing encouragement! Last but not least, thanks to the many trail "angels" out there like Tim Othy, Briteny Polo and my housemate and friend Michael McMurtrey for their logistical support and positive encouragement and words along the way. If I have left anyone out, please pardon me and I'll chalk it up to fatigue!
I am happy to end this adventure and come back to the Matrix! Love to ALL!!!
