My name is Lake Crawford, and I am from Derby, Kansas. Before going to medical school I wanted to defer for a year in order to complete a service project. I have wanted to hike the PCT for so many years, and I would love to couple my passion for the outdoors with raising funds for a charity that is very near to my heart--the Osage Nation Foundation. While in college I began to work with multiple Native American organizations aimed at improving the health of indigenous populations. The mission of the Osage Nation Foundation is to "promote and enhance the general welfare of the people of the Osage Nation by supporting cultural, educational, health, historical, community and other appropriate activities and programs," and by raising money I can help them do just that. I would greatly appreciate any support as I start out on this new and exciting journey. less

- Mile 366
Made it to Wrightwood yesterday. The trail is still crazy hot but the desert is extremely beautiful. We are about to get to sections that are even hotter that have very long stretches without water. I’m definitely looking forward to the cold in the high Sierra!
