In 2017 I hiked the Appalachian trail with my wife where, at the end- on Springer mountain, we made our vows in front of friends family and extended trail family. This year we are hiking again and now that I have the experience of a thru hike under my belt, I have a better idea on how to make the most of this one. To start off I wanted to hike while keeping close, always, the concern with the rising suicide rates among veterans. I struggled for a time with depression and anxiety both which made my difficult time in service more so. Each mile I hike (and even the worst ones have a beauty of their own) is a reminder of the life I almost lost out on. Help me to help those who dont yet know how to help a charity that may provide a service member with that second chance.
