I have walked for many miles, in warm weather and cold weather and no weather at all which I guess is just called indoors. But I have never walked to save my life. Hundreds of migrants do just this every year as they attempt to cross the Mexican-US border. Countless lose their lives along the route or simply vanish into the unforgiving desert. Border Angels combats these unnecessary deaths by providing water drops, free immigration counsel, and legal services to vulnerable populations. They educate the community and advocate for humane immigration reform, so that nobody has to risk death by dehydration to walk across the desert toward a brighter future.
For the next six months, I will be attempting to hike the Appalachian Trail in its entirety. I do not need to do this. You do not need to read this. But you are reading this, and I am doing this, and so here we are.
I am asking you to donate to Border Angels so that everyone has a chance to foolishly hike from Georgia to Maine to chase some semblance of insight. Your money will help to save the lives of people walking for a better life.
None of the proceeds go toward monetarily supporting the hike, but every donation will feed me emotionally, which will certainly taste a lot better than the instant mashed potatoes I'll be cooking in the woods. less

Border Angels is an all volunteer, non profit organisation that advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice with a special focus on issues related to issues related to the US-Mexican border. Border Angels engages in community education and awareness programs that include guided trips to the desert to place water along migrant crossing routes as well as to the border to learn about the history of US-Mexico border policy and experience the border fence firsthand. less
