A few months ago, I decided to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon from the South Rim and back - in a day. It was long, dangerous, exhausting, and one of the most incredible experiences of my life. My attempts to round up a crew were often met with comments such as "you're crazy" or "have fun". The ones that did make the journey, rest assured, will be friends for life. More over, one of them, I had never met until the night before the hike. We share a similar appreciation for the beauty of the natural world, what many call the finer things in life. In a busy world, full of the stresses of every day life, it is important to focus on self development and fulfillment, outside of the cubicle or classroom. Finding this focus, this mission, is challenging, but one of the most rewarding discoveries you will ever make. I found comfort in the depths of a canyon, and at the tops of a mountain. Unfortunately, many people, many children, many brothers and sisters, neighbors and friends, may never have that chance. The barriers of physical and mental limitations often build a strong wall. I aim to break down that wall. Let it crumble in the face of determination. I want to enable others to experience the thrill of a mountain a top or the Colorado River, to travel miles far, and miles high. I just need your help. less
