Gifford Woods State Park - Mile 183 - Jul 11_th, 2014

1.2 Miles. Really did about 4. I went to the store and sent a package home. Went to the outfitter to browse and look for mole skin and medical tape. Then went to Mountain Meadows Lodge where they were having a wedding and weren't accepting hiker reservations for camping. After walking north and south on the trail like a duck from the state fair- I finally decided to head to Gifford Woods State Park, where I did a work for stay (cleaned bathrooms)and hung out with the ranger and a SOBO couple- Tall Grass and Anchor. The ranger took us to a reservoir once she got off work, and we went kayaking and relaxed in the warm sun. After realizing I was putting too much pressure on myself to complete this section hike to Katahdin and forgetting to enjoy the journey, I made the decision to take it slow and head to Hanover and return home.
