After a motorcycle accident in March 2015, I was told I would never run again and have great difficulty walking for the rest of my life. If not for the steady hands of my surgeons, the patience of my physical therapists and doctors, the support of my family, the compassion of my friends, and the selflessness of those from the Wounded Warrior Project, that would have been the last word. Instead, I can walk, run, and do all of the things that once seemed like little more than lost dreams. I now prepare for the hike of a lifetime - the Pacific Crest Trail - only by the grace of God and the goodness of others towards me despite a sea of mistakes and glaring shortcomings.
The Wounded Warrior Project gave to me tremendously while I was down, including hospital visits and hot meals during a long recovery. It is now my privilege to give back in a small way.
For those of you with plenty of time, consider joining me on my hike. For those of you with plenty financially, consider a gift to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Pacific Crest Trail Association. For those of you with neither, consider the challenges you once thought too great to overcome, and master them. less
