Days 6-12
Franklin, North Carolina - Mile 106 - May 3rd, 2016
The last week has been incredible! I passed the 100 mile mark, earned my trail name ("Saint"), and crossed over the Georgia-North Carolina border. My legs are getting used to longer days, and I'm not quite as sore in the mornings and evenings.
At Top of Georgia hostel, I met Sir Packs-a-Lot, a man who has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail. He told me that many hikers regret taking too many photos of scenery and not enough photos of people. I hope I don't make that mistake. My hiking family is an amazing group of people, and I'm lucky to have made such good friends in such a short period of time. The Appalachian Trail is a wonderful place, and I couldn't be happier to out here.
Two weeks to the Smokies!
