Fear and Trembling
- Mile 0 - Feb 16th, 2020
I went on a shakedown hike last weekend in Taladega National Forrest. I did not eat enough for breakfast and ended up half way up a hill, trembling, sweating, and afraid. How would I make it back? What was I thinking? Can I do this? I made it home, and spent the next couple of days wondering if I should give up. I learned some good lessons and made some adjustments to my gear and my expectations. There will be fear. There will be trembling, although hopefully not from failing to eat enough to fuel my hike, but I am not giving up. Time to double down on training. Only a couple of weeks left until I leave.
